Buenos Aires: My Beloved City and the Magic of Faena Hotel

ree

Buenos Aires will always hold my heart.. it is home for me. There’s something truly magnetic about this city, its streets feel alive with history, its corners brimming with character, and its soul carrying both European elegance and Latin passion. I’m so glad I got to grow up in such an amazing city!

Walking through Buenos Aires, you instantly feel why it’s often called the “Paris of South America.” The architecture tells the story ornate French-style facades, grand avenues lined with trees, (specially in November when the jacaranda trees are in full bloom 🥹) and cafés spilling out onto sidewalks where you can sip an espresso and watch the world pass by. But it’s more than just the look. Buenos Aires has a rhythm, a pulse that’s unique, an intoxicating blend of tango music, bustling markets, and endless nights where the city never seems to sleep.

Puerto Madero: A Modern Icon

Among my favorite neighborhoods is Puerto Madero. Once an old docklands area, it has transformed into one of the city’s most modern and luxurious districts. Sleek skyscrapers line the riverfront, stylish restaurants welcome both locals and travelers, and the iconic Puente de la Mujer bridge glows beautifully at night.

And right at the heart of it all sits one of Buenos Aires’ most remarkable hotels: Faena Hotel.

The Faena Experience

Stepping into the Faena is like walking into a dream. Designed by Philippe Starck, it is bold, theatrical, and unapologetically glamorous. Red velvet curtains, golden details, and dramatic spaces create a feeling that you’re not just in a hotel you’re inside an experience.

I grew up spending my birthday dinners here with my family, sitting by the pool bar. Every year my dad asked, where do you want to go for your bday dinner? This was the place for me!

What makes the Faena so special is not just the design, but the way it captures the spirit of Buenos Aires. It’s a place where art, music, and luxury all collide. You can sip cocktails by the pool with its striking crown statue, indulge in Argentine steaks at the famous El Mercado restaurant, or dress up for a night of unforgettable tango at the Faena Theater.

Why I Love It

For me, the Faena is more than a hotel, it’s a reflection of Buenos Aires itself: sophisticated yet playful, European in elegance yet distinctly Argentine in soul. It’s where tradition and modernity meet, where history blends seamlessly with innovation.

Every time I’m there, I’m reminded why I love my city so much. Buenos Aires is timeless, romantic, and endlessly inspiring. And places like Faena capture that magic in the most spectacular way.
